PRESSURE SENSOR BASICS
Pressure measurements at the wellhead and downhole have a number of applications in production log analysis and for reservoir and production evaluation. From openhole pressure data, engineers can determine wellbore stability at the time of logging. In cased hole, we can estimate reservoir pressure from multirate logging surveys, calculate fluid density, and obtain reservoir parameters by performing pressure transient analyses on drawdown or buildup data.

Strain, sapphire, and quartz gauges are the main devices used to measure pressure.
